Development Services play a key role to facilitate Brisbane’s growth, so our unique, subtropical capital continues to offer quality of life for visitors and residents. Our branch is the destination for applications relating to development, including engineering and plumbing. We have an amazing multi-disciplinary team of dedicated, passionate, and service focused professional people who have our residents, building construction industry and communities at the heart of what they do.
The Role
Working within Development Services’ Innovation and Operations Section, the Workforce Capability Officer leads and facilitates the delivery of workforce initiatives and projects, succession planning and learning and development activities to enhance business focussed outcomes and organisational development.
The Workforce Capability Officer also works in partnership with the Branch Leadership Team (BLT) and Corporate HR Teams to deliver a variety of strategic and operational initiatives, provide resource strategy and labour (financial) guidance, reporting, and represents the branch in Divisional Workforce Planning activities as part of the Divisional Workforce Planning Working Group.
To be successful you will have:
- well-developed knowledge of contemporary and best practice human resource management issues and practises
- the ability to research, interpret and analyse information in relation to HR issues and to report and present findings and recommendations in a clear and concise manner, and in a variety of formats.
- excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to write effective reports, deliver professional presentations, facilitate groups and establish effective working relationships with stakeholders.
- proven ability to provide professional, authoritative advice and recommendations to senior and line management, including the ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders whilst identifying business and process improvement opportunities for the branch.
