Our Branch – 2032 Host City, Global Relations and Economic Partnerships (2032HCGREP)
The Global Relations team provide leadership, guidance and support for all international activities involving or undertaken on behalf of Brisbane City Council. We ensure Brisbane maximises, coordinates, and strategically drives the international opportunities available to the City of Brisbane.
The 2032 Host City team collaborates across the organisation to plan and prepare for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. We support the Lord Mayor and Chief Executive Officer in their leadership roles, work closely with internal and external stakeholders, Games Delivery Partners, and international organisations to optimise planning and delivery, ensuring the best possible outcomes for Brisbane.
The Economic Development team focuses on enhancing Brisbane’s capacity for long-term economic growth. We coordinate and implement projects designed to attract industry, investment, jobs and visitors.
As we continue to drive the city's development, significant internal growth opportunities are available within the Branch. These roles offer the chance to lead and execute initiatives that strengthen Brisbane's position as a premier global economic hub.
Our Team
The 2032 Host City team works across Council to plan, prepare and ready the city for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. We collaborate with internal stakeholders, Games Delivery Partners and international organisations to optimise planning and delivery of the Games to achieve the best outcomes for Brisbane. This city-defining event will require critical work and input from across Council and our team has a key role to drive this cross-Council collaboration for Games-related activities.
The Role
As the Host City Operations Program Coordinator, you will be at the heart of shaping Brisbane’s legacy. This is your chance to lead major city-wide projects, collaborate with key decision-makers, and drive high-profile initiatives that will leave a lasting impact on our city.
This role is a high profile, integral part of the team, working with key stakeholders across our business as well as external partners. This role will provide governance, high-level advice and contribution to overall operational and strategic direction for the Host City team. You will provide managers with professional support and create and maintain collaborative trusted relationships with multiple leaders and teams across Council.
You will drive the success of Council’s Games initiatives, monitoring and driving deliverables, facilitating business planning and managing a portfolio of strategic projects. You will demonstrate exceptional technical planning knowledge alongside high level consultation and advocacy skills and experience.
