Salary Range: (Band 4) AUD $82,995 to $89,095 annually + superannuation + benefits (Remuneration stated is for the full-time positions)

 We play a key role to facilitate Brisbane’s growth so our unique, subtropical capital continues to offer quality of life for visitors and residents.

 Our branch is the destination for applications relating to development, including engineering and plumbing. We have an amazing team of dedicated, passionate and service focused professional people who have our residents, building construction industry and communities at the heart of what they do.

 The Role 

There are multiple temporary full-time Development Support Officer vacancies within our Development Services team. These roles are based at Brisbane Square. 

As Development Support Officer, you will have highly developed experience working with tasks, projects and process improvement initiatives that support development related activities which means you will have an awareness and ability to understand the associated development rules, regulations, and legislation. 

This is an excellent opportunity to demonstrate your leadership, problem solving and customer service skills in a fast-paced, highly political and challenging environment that works to strict dead deadlines and KPI’s. 

It is also an opportunity for you to strengthen your technical knowledge of the development assessment process as you will be regularly engaging with an array of stakeholders such as planners, engineers, specialists and plumbers. while undertaking a variety of tasks and participating in projects and process improvements. 

  To be successful you will have: 

  • demonstrated evidence of capabilities in Council’s Leadership Blueprint to deliver performance excellence and a values-based culture 
  • Experience in providing training and coaching of team members to support development services and achieve outcomes within nominated timeframes.
  • experience in problem solving and success in completing high quality operational and development support tasks accurately and on time 
  • ability to manage a team’s workload, provide direction, and develop and maintain effective relationships 
  • experience in/or ability to rapidly acquire an understanding of and apply relevant legislation and Council policies and procedures 
  • experience and success in written and oral communication and demonstrated interpersonal skills 
  • high level proficiency in commonly used computer systems and software.
