The Role
Play a vital role in integrating Council's environmental, social, and economic objectives into nature-based recreation action plans, procedures, and guidelines. Take a consultative approach with a broad stakeholder group, to facilitate positive customer experience and access, ensuring conservation reserve usage protects and prioritises sustainability.
You will develop, implement and assist in the evaluation of outdoor recreation management, on varying projects across conservation reserves, meaning your work locations may vary with places such as Karawatha Forest, Toohey Forest Park and Mt Coot-tha Reserve.
Drive initiatives, working in partnerships with varied and passionate stakeholders, to create and implement strategies that promote and encourage the appreciation of conservation reserves for future sustainable use.
To be successful you will have:
- demonstrated knowledge of natural area outdoor recreation management practices
- high level understanding of safety and environmental impact in line with industry standards in conservation reserves management
- strong knowledge of ecological processes and conservation principles
- experience in developing sustainable outdoor recreation guidelines and communication strategies
- strong written and verbal communication skills
- advanced ability to negotiate, influence and maintain strong stakeholder engagement
- a c class drivers’ licence.
