The Compliance and Regulatory Services (CARS) branch provide services 24/7 to help make Brisbane a fairer and safer place. The branch engages people and businesses across the City to help resolve problems with responsive and consistent solutions that have a focus on Community Value.

The Role

The Manager Community Standards provides leadership for several multi-disciplinary teams providing crucial regulatory services in the built and natural environments and environmental health.

 With six direct reports, 125 employees and a budget of $15.9M you will be responsible for the delivery of exceptional service and performance outcomes with a focus on increasing the effectiveness through technology and systems.

 You will be an inclusive, collaborative, and values-based leader with a track record of building team culture and enhancing performance outcomes with significant ability to contribute to the leadership team, Council, and the community.

 This is an incredibly rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced executive to lead the Community Standards team. Reporting directly to the General Manager you will be an integral member of the CARS leadership team providing strategic direction and striving toward performance excellence. 

 We are seeking an experienced executive and people leader who can demonstrate managing a significant workforce through change and sensitive community issues. You will have exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills and able to provide high-quality, well-informed advice to influence decision-making at the highest level.
