Our Branch
Information Services Branch (ISB) is responsible for Council's information and communications technology (ICT) strategy, information management and service delivery. Our branch leads the ICT strategy that supports business objectives of Council to improve business functions and deliver benefits to the community.
The ICT Business Engagement and Training team in Information Services branch (ISB) is focused on digital advocacy, enhancing and strengthening strategic partnerships within ISB and with all Council divisions to better leverage the power of digital.
The Role
As the primary point of contact between Council businesses and ISB (Information Services Branch), the Business Engagement Manager plays a pivotal role in fostering strong and value-driven relationships. This role drives the identification and anticipation of business capabilities that drive ICT demand. As a "trusted advisor" to Divisional business leads, the Business Engagement Manager provides expertise, strategic guidance, and proactively identifies opportunities to leverage ICT capabilities and enterprise platforms to meet business objectives.
This role is vital in ensuring that technology investments are optimised to meet organisational objectives and drive business success.
You
To achieve success in this role, you will have:
- Leadership: Strong leadership capabilities and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Education: A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent work experience.
- ICT Client/Account Management: A proven track record of ICT client/account management at an executive level within a large, complex organisation with the proven ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to understand their specific needs, and drive the identification of fit for purpose solutions.
- Superior Communication and Relationship Building Skills: Excellent communication skills, able to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, listen attentively, and build strong rapport.
- Strategic Planning and Business Acumen: Demonstrated ability to listen, understand, and interpret business needs and outcomes. You will possess the skills to translate insights into strategic planning, ensuring that ICT initiatives align with overarching business goals and objectives.
- Well-Developed ICT Experience: Experience and exposure to a variety of technical environments, to enable the gathering of key information and collaborate with technical experts to form solution options and recommendations.
- Knowledge of Current and Emerging Technology Trends: Up-to-date knowledge of current and emerging technology trends and developments and aware of industry advancements, new methodologies, and digital innovations.
