Our Branch
Waste and Resource Recovery Services (WaRRS) branch delivers waste management, resource recovery, litter prevention and waste minimisation initiatives for Brisbane residents.
WaRRS manages contracts for waste and recycling bin collection, waste disposal, green waste and dead animal collection. We work towards a cleaner Brisbane by discouraging littering and installing public place recycling and litter bins to keep our streets clean. We also help to build a cleaner, greener city by encouraging waste minimisation and recycling through a range of education initiatives and community involvement.
The Roles
We have multiple Contract Services Officer roles who operates in the Field or in the Liaison team (office based).
Field based officers monitor contractor performance in the field and are assigned to a region. You would prepare waste infrastructure for new developments and park upgrade, investigate customer queries, and provide support to contractors during incidents in the field.
Office based Liaison team members investigate customer queries using phone, email and online channels, undertake desktop assessments to review new waste applications (e.g. in-home services), manage community event bin requests, and coordinate service delivery with the contractor.
To be successful you will have the ability to:
- supervise and administer service contracts
- contribute to team directions, give and receive feedback and achieve agreed performance standards
- provide high quality customer service to internal and external, including contractors and residents
- work independently and effectively in a field environment while managing workloads with competing priorities and deadlines
- effectively problem solve and achieve quality and value for money outcomes within tight timeframes.
