Our Branch

Waste and Resource Recovery Services (WaRRS) branch delivers waste management, resource recovery, litter prevention and waste minimisation initiatives for Brisbane residents. 

WaRRS manages contracts for waste and recycling bin collection, waste disposal, green waste and dead animal collection. We work towards a cleaner Brisbane by discouraging littering and installing public place recycling and litter bins to keep our streets clean. We also help to build a cleaner, greener city by encouraging waste minimisation and recycling through a range of education initiatives and community involvement. 

The Role

As a Contract Services Officer you will be supervising the operational performance of our contractors and providing high quality customer service, ensuring that waste collection services are delivered in a timely and safe manner.

As a Field Officer you will monitor contractor performance in the field, prepare waste infrastructure for new developments and park upgrades, investigate customer queries, and provide support to contractors during incidents in the field. This role is both office and field based, with our office based at our Regional Operations Centre at Eagle Farm, however you will be predominantly working in the field.

To be successful you will have the ability to: 

  • supervise and administer service contracts
  • contribute to team directions, give and receive feedback and achieve agreed performance standards
  • provide high quality customer service to internal and external, including contractors and residents
  • work independently and effectively in a field environment while managing workloads with competing priorities and deadlines
  • effectively problem solve and achieve quality and value for money outcomes within tight timeframes.
