Salary Range: Band 8 $139,957-$151,454 + 14% Superannuation

Location: Green Square, Fortitude Valley

Brisbane Infrastructure (BI) brings together Council's asset management, infrastructure planning, design, project management, construction, services, maintenance and transport operations activities.

The Project Management branch in City Projects Office provides leadership and accountability in Project and Contract Management delivery. Professional services include expertise in civil, transport, civic, building and natural environment infrastructure and assets. The branch is responsible for the overall delivery of projects and providing a diversity of services to assist asset owners.

The Role

Support the development and delivery of community and stakeholder engagement strategies for Council’s infrastructure projects. Leading a small team, you'll provide expert guidance and strategic advice to internal stakeholders from senior leadership to project managers and site-based teams, while actively managing key relationships and media activity. This role will require a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to innovate and drive engagement outcomes.

  • lead and model customer-focused engagement across Council projects
  • develop, monitor, and evaluate community engagement strategies during all project phases
  • provide strategic advice on stakeholder engagement and issues management to project teams
  • lead and manage a team to deliver strategic engagement
  • contribute to media and public relations activities to enhance Council’s reputation
  • support project budget management through effective engagement strategies
  • participate in procurement related to engagement activities.

To be successful you will have:

  • extensive experience in developing and managing engagement strategies
  • excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • proven expertise in project management and issues management for projects of all sizes
  • strong relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders
  • ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve high-performance outcomes.
