Council, through Transport for Brisbane, delivers public transport services to the City via several contracts with the State Government and private organisations. Transport for Brisbane is keeping Brisbane moving. 

Commercial and Contract Services provide contract, business, and commercial support for Transport for Brisbane. This includes providing expertise in the management of long term, strategic public transport, and infrastructure contracts such as ferries and ferry infrastructure, operations, maintenance, and more.

This role assists in the effective delivery of Transport for Brisbane’s budget and financial reporting, and development and management of contracts pivotal to the delivery of public transport outcomes for the city of Brisbane.

In this role you will:

  • provide specialist financial and budget knowledge, interpretation and advice on complex contract and commercial matters including financial modelling, performance frameworks and contract management issues
  • assist with the procurement and management of significant public transport contracts, utilising contemporary contract management frameworks
  • manage the Divisional budget formulation and review process, undertaking research, analysis and formal reporting on financial performance, resource utilisation, forecasting and taxation.

To be successful, you will bring: 

  • knowledge and experience in business planning, budget development, financial modelling, financial management, accounting and reporting.
  • demonstrated experience in contract interpretation, administration and management using contemporary contract management frameworks.
  • significant experience in dealing with commercial, legislative and regulatory requirements in a business environment
  • experience in providing expert advice in the management and administration of financial and contract issues.
  • excellent skills in consultation, negotiation, networking, partnering, advocacy,
  • communication and influencing skill around implementing process or business change.
