The Role
The Greenspace Technical Coordinator is responsible for the planning and oversight of work, maintenance, and repairs on parks, garden, and roadside assets across the city. This role works with Technical Officers to identify complex horticultural issues; plan proactive, reactive, capital and project works; and on decision-making regarding parks, garden, and roadside assets.
The position is also responsible for leading, planning, and coordinating a team of experienced technical officers for Brisbane’s horticultural programs.
You
You will have considerable knowledge and experience in urban horticultural management; coordinating projects; and leading professional teams. You will be a collaborative leader with strong communication skills to connect with team members as well as customers, stakeholders, and management.
We are looking for a resilient leader who is agile and can prioritise and coordinate work effectively with consideration to safety, customer service, and value for money.
To be successful you will have:
- demonstrated evidence of capabilities in Council’s Leadership Blueprint
- well developed experience in urban horticultural management
- demonstrated experience in the development and maintenance of park, garden & roadside assets
- knowledge and experience in managing recurrent budgets
- highly developed communication skills
- knowledge of the relevant legislation relating to Public Space.
