The Team

ICT Service Operations within Brisbane City Council’s Information Services Branch is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Council's ICT environment, encompassing more than 7,500 computers, 450 key applications/software, and various other ICT equipment, ensuring technology is reliable, secure and supported.

Services include operating, managing and maintaining hardware, software, voice and data networks, providing support services to end-users, change management of the ICT environment, and is responsible for incident, change and problem management resolution.

The Role

This is a multi-faceted team leadership role in a rapidly changing environment.   You’ll lead the ICT Service Centre team responsible for delivering service requests, driving incident and major incident resolution, coordinating continuous improvement activities and ensuring quality “first-point-of-contact” for information technology customers at Council.

As Service Centre Team Leader you will draw on your agile leadership and collaborative communication style to respond appropriately as issues arise and to liaise effectively with key stakeholders to ascertain the status of incidents and service requests and provide appropriate communications to impacted stakeholders.

  •  excellent communications skills with the ability to build collaborative working relationships and communicate complex technical matters to technical and non-technical audiences

  •  excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify customer problems and oversee the development of solutions
  •  the ability to prepare effective and logical documentation, develop reports, analyse or interpret outputs and initiate or recommend appropriate action
  •  the ability to review and continually improve ICT management processes, tools and services to achieve organisational outcomes.


While not mandatory, the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) foundation qualification will be highly regarded for this role.
