Our Branch

The 2032 Host City, Global Relations and Economic Partnerships comprises the International Relations and Multicultural Affairs (IRMA) team, as well as the Brisbane 2032 Host City and Strategic Partnerships (2032 HCSP) team and the Economic Development (ED) team to make Brisbane a premium destination for residents, visitors and businesses.

The Role

The Senior Economic Analyst is an outstanding opportunity to demonstrate your wealth of skills and experience in urban economics which will drive positive economic development outcomes for Brisbane. The successful applicant will do this by undertaking research with relevant data sources and metrics as well as contributing your technical expertise on key economic and socio-economic opportunities

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Economic Analyst to provide data insights and analytical expertise. The successful candidate will create formal written reports, prepare presentations and provide advice when requested on economic data relevant for the Council. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join a supportive, progressive, and close-knit team of highly experienced professionals. 

To be successful you will have:

  • demonstrated technical skills in interpreting economic and demographic measures that are relevant to understanding the regional economy
  • career experience in researching, sourcing, manipulating, and analysing statistical data
  • career experience monitoring and reporting on economic activity trends
  • project management skills in the delivery of economic outcomes to inform and present key priorities and outcomes.
  • experience in utilising software packages such as Power BI, ArcGIS, ABS TableBuilder or similar
  • qualification in economics, or other related disciplines.
  • highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • strong interpersonal and presentation skills
  • demonstrated ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary project teams.
