Northern Specialist Family Violence Service (NSFVS) provides a range of specialist family violence programs. The service aims to support victim survivors and their children to remain safely within their community and maintain a life free of violence while also addressing the emotional and practical needs and issues arising from the violence.
The Opportunity
Our NSFVS team are the lead provider for the integrated family violence service system in the Northern Metropolitan sub-region. The NSFVS provides support services to victim survivors of family violence including children, inclusive of cisgender heterosexual women; and people from the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex and Queer Community (LGBTIQ+).
The service aims to support victim survivors and their children to remain safely within their community and maintain a life free of violence while also addressing the emotional and practical needs and issues arising from the violence.
This full time, permanent position is based at our Preston office with a mix of working in the office and working from home.

Key Responsibilities
NSFVS operates within a collaborative and supportive team environment with a strong focus on partnerships with relevant external organisations.
As the Program Manager you will provide leadership and oversight of specialist family violence practitioners responding to victim survivors and their children. This role provides oversight in the areas of case management, family violence counselling and community engagement.
The role includes providing supervision, support and consultation to the team within the program and providing consultation to external agencies such as Family Safety Victoria and Department of Families, Fairness and Housing.
The Program Manager is a member of the NSFVS Management Team and participates in strategic and program development, including regularly reviewing practices and procedures of the NSFVS.

- Case Management
- Family Violence Counselling
- Strategic Community Engagement
- Internal and external Partnerships
About You
- You will hold a minimum Bachelor level qualification in Social Work, recent employment in the family violence sector or equivalency met through the 7 Equivalency Principles in line with Recommendation 209's minimum mandatory qualification requirements. - Minimum two years’ experience in a leadership role in the community sector and experience in managing a team in a complex, person centered, trauma informed program.
