The Opportunity
Take Two is a state-wide service providing high quality therapeutic services to children and young people who have suffered significant abuse, neglect or disrupted attachment and are clients of Child Protection. We work with the traumatised child, and with their caregivers, families and communities. We help them understand the child’s trauma, and how it’s impacting their development and behaviours.
Key Responsibilities
Take Two has many programs providing individual, dyadic and systemic client facing services.
This role includes:
- Provision of high-quality assessment and advice relating to the care of Child Protection clients referred to the Take Two program.
- Provision of counselling and therapeutic interventions for children, young people and their families.
- Work closely and collaboratively with the client, their families and the care team to achieve therapeutic goals and outcomes.
- Provide secondary consultation and support to DHHS and Community Service Organisations via Care Team for the clients.
- Contribute to the research and training components of the Take Two program.
About You
We are seeking a qualified Clinician who has relevant Bachelor level or higher qualification in Psychology, Social Work or a related discipline. You will have a sound understanding of the complexities of the service system, a demonstrated ability to provide direct service in the clinical assessment and treatment of young people and families, and a sound understanding and demonstrated ability to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families and community.
