Take Two provides a range of specialised therapeutic intervention services for infants, children and young people who have suffered trauma, neglect and disrupted attachment, and contributes to the service system that provides care, support and protection for these children. Take Two has a comprehensive clinical framework and is supported by a knowledge team that provides internal clinical practice development, research and specialist consultation to the program to enhance outcomes for service users.

Your Opportunity 

The Take Two Wattle Project provides therapeutic family violence services to young people who use violence, it incorporates two programs:

  • Adolescents who use Violence in the Home (AVITH) offers therapeutic intervention to young people and their families, case management, lived experience, and brokerage support to address the impact of a young person’s violence at home on the wellbeing of themselves and their family. 
  • The Adolescent Boys Trial Program provides individual therapeutic intervention to young people aged 12-18 years who use or are at risk of using family, domestic or sexual violence.

These services run across some or all the north-eastern Melbourne and Hume-Merri-bek regions

As a Senior Clinician, you will facilitate recovery, empower participants to make positive choices, and contribute to building a robust evidence base for effective support strategies.

You will work closely with the Clinical Team Leader and provide supervision to the team's Clinicians.

  • Full time or Part time (0.8), Permanent role.
  • Base Salary $112k pa + 11.5% superannuation + salary packaging up to $15,900 pa

Your Skills and Experience 

We are seeking a Senior Clinician who enjoys working within a multi-disciplinary team and are passionate about seeing young people and families reach their goals. 

  • Sound understanding of trauma and the impacts on attachment and developmental milestones for young people is essential.
  • Bachelor degree level or higher qualification in a Health or Welfare related field such as Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Family Therapy, Speech Pathology, Art Therapy or related discipline.
  • significant experience conducting clinical work with adolescents. 
  • Sound understanding of the complexities of the service system, a demonstrated ability to provide direct service in the clinical assessment and treatment of young people and families.
  • Sound understanding and demonstrated ability to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families and community.
  • You will have experience in, or be willing to provide, high-quality clinical supervision to staff.
