About the Role:
The Ward Clerk role will contribute to providing appropriate, timely and accurate clerical support to the Nurse Unit Manager and the Aged Care team.
Conduct primary administrative duties, such as assisting managing supply levels of the unit and organising unit stock orders, maintenance of clinical care folders.
General daily administration duties, working alongside care staff and under the direction of NUM.
Facilitate ad hoc enquiries from families, external contractors, and other internal and external clientele, in person or over the phone.
Management of unit’s medical records, including filing, archiving, retrieval and compiling of patient records to and from Medical Records, as requested.
Actively engage in document control in the unit ensuring correct and current forms are used by staff
Assist in organising transportation or referral requests from the unit staff in a professional manner.
Participates and record minutes in unit and committee meetings relevant to the role, as requested by the NUM.
About You:
- Demonstrated prior experience in office administration and customer service.
- Have a high level of customer service presentation and awareness when communicating with patients, residents and related parties.
- Demonstrated experience in medical administration including an understanding of medical terminology (preferred).
- Sound understanding of maintaining confidentiality in all areas of work.
- Ability to work in a high volume, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated high level of computer literacy.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Experience in a rural or regional healthcare setting.
Employment conditions and remuneration are as prescribed in the relevant award (dependent upon qualification) and current Enterprise Agreement.
