Where do you want to go?

This is a great opportunity for a sales professional with an established knowledge of the Horticulture industry. The Territory Business Manager is the initial and ongoing Sales contact between our distribution partners, key influencers and end users / growers and Bayer CropScience. The main objective of this position is to achieve/exceed the annually agreed Sales budget within the designated Territory.

Reporting to the National Sales Manager, you will be responsible for managing a territory from Toowoomba to Brisbane, down to Stanthorpe (inclusive of Armidale and Coffs Harbour). Driving customer engagement through business development and technical knowledge.

  • Sell and promote Bayer CropScience products to distribution channel and end users to increase demand and closing the sale at each opportunity.
  • Provide value adding service to Distribution, professional farmers, consultants and opinion leaders.
  • Prepare and execute a Territory and key reseller business plan that fits with the overall company and regional business strategy.
  • Continually identify business potential and market share growth opportunities by analysing and planning time allocation based on sales potential.
  • Acquire and maintain an appropriate level of technical knowledge in all key areas relevant to regional business field of operations in Horticulture, combined with a strong understanding of key product features and benefits and value propositions to build sales.
  • Organize and establish appropriate field activities to promote products through commercial demo plots, grower field days, grower meetings (as required)
  • Continually build effective customer relationships to optimise sales, satisfaction and loyalty across the Agriculture community.
  • Actively work with Field Solutions and Market development teams to build demand, leveraging trials, messaging and value propositions.

  • Proven Agriculture sales experience, with a strong record of growing accounts.
  • A genuine passion for engaging with customers and providing product recommendations.
  • Be IT literate, with confidence navigating MS Outlook, Excel, Word and CRM databases.
  • Ability to produce accurate forecasting and monthly sales reports.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Strong influencer and negotiator.
  • Ability to proactively identify market opportunities.
  • Commercial acumen.
