Where do you want to go?

Be responsible for managing the system requirements, verification and validation activities with respect to software and electro-mechanical products developed at the Rydalmere facility.

Own any New Product Development (NPD) projects that are assigned within the R&D function of the Radiology Business. Overseeing systems engineering tasks include planning and executing test protocols for both software and electro mechanical products destined for global markets.

The scope of the position also includes the management of Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) activities for existing Radiology products manufactured at the Sydney facility and external manufacturers. The Systems engineer may be required to build or repair test fixtures and prototype electromechanical assemblies as part of the new product development process

  • Develop and execute test plans and test frameworks to enable verification activities to proceed efficiently
  • Generate test reports
  • Assist in the management of the R&D lab by arranging equipment calibration and servicing and by building or repairing test fixtures and prototype subsystems as required by the Senior Systems engineer and the software QA Manager
  • Work with Radiology R&D teams in US to ensure that Rydalmere systems engineering activities and outputs conform to Bayer and regulatory requirements

Does this sound like you?

  • Bachelor of Engineering (i.e. Mechanical/ Electrical, Mechatronics, Biomedical) or a related discipline
  • Experience with systems engineering, V&V planning and execution activities of complex electro mechanical medical device
  • Practical skills such as soldering, test automation with tools such as LabVIEW, familiarity with bench test equipment such as oscilloscopes Qualification & Competencies
  • Knowledge of ISO13485, IEC60601standards, EMC testing, Requirement management tools, Statistical techniques and Engineering change management practices
  • Excellent documentation, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to be self-driven and work autonomously is
  • Experience working in a heavily regulated environment;
  • Ability to work with a range of stakeholders including the end user of your medical products
  • Strong focus on achievement of goals plus the ability to generate cohesive support within a matrix reporting environment
