This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team and assist in developing electronic systems and sub-systems across Bayer’s range of Radiology medical devices. The Electrical Team is responsible for the following.

  • Designing and maintaining various specialist subsystems at a board level, ensuring the whole electronics design within each of our devices performs as intended
  • Elements of component selection, design, compliance testing, troubleshooting prototype issues and assisting with implementation in production as well as liaising with suppliers

  • Design and develop Electromechanical subsystems, which include DC motor drives, Pressure and Flow sensing, Optical and Infrared Sensors, LCD screens, wireless modules and other communications protocols, Battery Power management and Power Supplies
  • Design and develop test software to support Radiology Business product testing and verification. Work with state-of-the-art Microprocessors and Microcontrollers in close collaboration with our software team
  • Support the manufacturing/service function by participating in Life Cycle Engineering efforts for products in the market
  • Build, test and verify new electrical sub-assemblies/modules.
  • Keep up to date with the latest electronics manufacturing and design technologies for both prototyping and production
  • Hands-on building prototypes, testing, and troubleshooting PCBs and sub-assemblies
  • Generation of design specifications, descriptions, test reports, and design drawing documentation
  • IEC60601-1, IEC60601-1-2, CE mark, FCC, EMC, Radio, and IATA standards testing

Does this sound like you?

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • 2-7 years of working experience as an electrical/electronic engineer.
  • Experience in highly regulated environments, i.e., Medical Devices, Automobiles, Aerospace, Defense, Gaming
  • Experience in electrical circuit design and PCBA layout in a regulated environment, hands-on experience in fine pitch components soldering, PCB prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of schematic entry, PCB layout and library management in Altium or OrCAD
  • Deep knowledge of power electronics design and motor driver design
  • Knowledge of resolving EMC/EMI issues
  • Knowledge of High-speed digital design – desirable
