We are seeking an experienced senior communications professional who deliver impactful communications that resonate with a diverse range of audiences and stakeholders, and in turn make a meaningful contribution towards the reputation and growth of the Bayer company, divisions, and brands.
This senior role reports to the ANZ Head of Communications, Public Affairs & Sustainability for the Bayer Group, and has specific responsibility for partnering with the Pharmaceutical (including Radiology) and Consumer Healthcare divisions to manage and advance the reputation of the company, divisions and brand.
Key tasks of the role:
· Develop and execute strategic communications and media relations on behalf of pharmaceuticals and consumer health divisions.
· Provide strategic and trusted counsel to senior business leaders, including supporting leadership communications and major change communications initiatives.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with mainstream and trade media.
· Reactive media management and proactive media relations including social media.
· Provide strategic PR counsel and advice to teams to maximize and protect brand and business reputation and in compliance with relevant industry codes of practices including the Medicines Australia Code.
· Effectively engage and work with a complex and diverse network of internal stakeholders, both locally and internationally.
· Provide line management and coaching to the Communications Business Partner in line with Bayer’s LIFE values.
· Contribute to the development and success of the broader Communications, Public Affairs, Communications function and team culture.
· Act as the senior communications representative on divisional Leadership Teams as needed.
Does this sound like you?
· Tertiary qualified in communications, journalism or business.
· Have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in senior communications or corporate affairs, gained either in house and/or in an agency.
· Display excellent strategic and planning skills with proven capability in delivering impactful strategic communications plans on behalf of an organization.
· Demonstrate an interest in strategy; and in executing communications including leadership communications, mainstream and digital media with a strong willingness to collaborate with local and global colleagues to achieve outcomes.
· Hands on proactive and reactive media relations is essential.
· Ability to navigate ambiguity and influencing across all levels in a matrix organization.
· Knowledge pharmaceutical or other highly regulated sectors where communications activities are governed by industry codes of practice and/or regulation is preferred.
· Ability to champion Bayer’s LIFE values and behaviors, including fostering an inclusive culture.
· Willingness to travel and work outside office hours when necessary.
