Are you a payroll pro who loves crunching numbers and keeping things running smoothly? We’re looking for a Payroll Officer to join our team on a 12-month parental leave contract! You’ll be the go-to person behind the scenes, ensuring our team of 1600+ employees get paid accurately and on time!
In this role, you’ll be responsible for calculating wages, deductions, taxes, and managing all things payroll-related, while maintaining confidentiality and precision. You’ll work closely with our Payroll Manager, handle benefits and allowances, and make sure everything aligns with legal requirements and company policies.
What You'll Do:
- Payroll Sidekick: Assist with payroll tasks such as registering new team members, processing pay and resolving queries! 🧑💻💰
- NZ Payroll Pro: Work with external partners to manage NZ payroll and updates.
- Report Guru: Create and present payroll reports to keep everyone informed! 📊✨
- Team Helper: Be the go-to for payroll questions, helping staff and management alike! 🤗
- Onboarding & Offboarding Wizard: Set up new hires and calculate termination payments. 🛠️💼
- Problem Solver: Resolve payroll issues quickly and accurately! 🔍🦸♂️
- Superannuation Superstar: Assist with superannuation contributions! 💸
- Compliance Champion: Stay on top of payroll rules and regulations. ⚖️
- Reconciliation Rockstar: Track and match payroll clearing accounts! 🔎
- Tax & Reporting Hero: Help with monthly and annual payroll tax and reporting. 📅💼
- Audit Ally: Assist with payroll audits and system checks. 🔒
💡 What you’ll bring:
- 3+ Years in Payroll: Solid experience with processing a medium-sized payroll. 📈
- Payroll System Experience: Ideally with Preceda or similar systems.
- Employment Standards Knowledge: Familiar with National Employment Standards, Awards, and Agreements. ⚖️
- Creative & Analytical: Ability to tackle challenges with both logic and creativity. 🤔
- Forward Planner: Organised and proactive in ensuring timely payroll processing. ⏰
- Team Player: Enjoys collaborating and contributing to team success. 🤝
