Floorman

We are looking for Expressions of Interest from experienced Floorman with at least 12 months experience in the Oil & Gas industry. Your primary activities will be taking instruction from the Driller while conducting rig floor operations. You must be able to demonstrate a strong, safe work ethic and possess forward planning and preparation skills. Good housekeeping and promoting safety initiatives must be a focus at all times.

These roles have not yet been assigned locations, however it is safe to assume the point of hire will be Toowoomba, QLD. You would be required to make your own way to the point of hire, where you will then be transported to the site location and camp. Please be advised that all candidates must submit a current National Police Clearance and pass a comprehensive Medical Assessment including drug and alcohol screening.

 General Responsibilities

• Assisting the Derrickman and or Motorman and directly reporting to the Driller on your designated crew.
• Assisting with mixing mud and ensuring the mud systems are maintained and operating to standard.
• Preparing tools and assisting with prep work for running cement and casing.
• Ensuring all equipment on the rig floor is working correctly and the drill floor is kept clean.
• Handle, sort, and move drill pipes, down hole tools, cement and other materials.
• Prepare the drill string, clean threads and measure drill string.
• Pull slips and run tongs.
• Assisting the driller with well control.
• Working safely, following instructions and reporting any unsafe conditions proactively to Supervisors.
• Must have the physical stamina to work in demanding conditions for long periods at a time, and be comfortable working at heights.

Preferred Experience

Previous Oil & Gas experience as a Lease or Floorman is desirable. Persons with previous experience in labour intensive roles with a high degree of manual handling may be considered. An advantage would be previous exposure to a 12 hour shift roster and remote work environments.

Essential Qualifications

• Certificate II in Drilling Oil/Gas (on shore)/Well Servicing Operations
• Industry Safety Induction (ISI) Safer Together
• Undertake First Response to Fire
• Operate Breathing Apparatus
• Apply First Aid (including CPR)
• Enter and Work in Confined Spaces
• Working at Heights
• Permit to Work - Holder
• Current valid Drivers License
