Position Purpose

Project Manager is responsible to control and manage from the bid/tender phase and, when successful, throughout the initiation, planning, execution and closeout phases in a timely, cost effective and safe manner. 

Responsible for the contract specific outcomes are achieved and ensure an efficient delivery system that can provide for multiple contracts and customers. The Project Manager interfaces with the internal and external resources to ensure the contracted requirements of their project(s) are achieved. 

This position is responsible for management of the contract with and, where adverse variance trends are identified, taking necessary action within the structure of the project.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide overall project engineering leadership on Energy and Utilities projects, guide client communications, manage resources and develop innovative engineering solutions that are implemented in concert with the Construction Manager. 
  • Scoping, execution and management of permitting and regulatory compliance projects associated with the siting, construction, and operation. These projects are often fast-paced, multi-faceted, and geographically diverse. 
  • Be the primary point of contact with the customer nominated representative for designated project(s) and cultivate and manage this relationship in a manner that promotes customer satisfaction, faith and goodwill and enhances the reputation of Ausconnex.
  • Participate in the bid and tender phase of designated business opportunities that are assigned “go-get” status and ensure that the capabilities and requirements of the project are clearly and properly communicated to the Bid Manager and represented in the bids 
  • The objective of participation is to ensure maximum utilisation of the production capability by contracts which are low risk and deliver the planned profitability.  
  • Develop project management procurement and commissioning plans. Manage the design, construction, commissioning and close out phases of the project and programs. 
  • Responsible for safe, effective and efficient contract and contractor management for the supply of project / program construction services. Manage the procurement of construction services including the development of contract specifications, managing the 
  • tendering process and administration of the contract. 
  • Develop and maintain detailed and accurate project / program schedules for each work packet including time and resource forecasts, and appropriate logic and dependencies. 
  • Accountable for project / program cost management, ensuring that resource and expenditure forecasts for all projects / programs are accurate, financial variations are raised in a timely manner where necessary.

Qualifications, Certifications and Licences

Required Qualifications 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Engineering or Project Management or relevant experience
