About the role:

Are you a strategic leader with a passion for enhancing customer experiences through effective facilities management? Aruma is looking for a Head of Facilities and Project Management to oversee our national property portfolio and drive capital and development projects. In this crucial role, you'll be responsible for the ongoing management of our properties, ensuring they are safe, accessible, and well-maintained, while leading a dedicated team focused on delivering high-quality support to our customers.

You will coordinate operational and maintenance activities, manage commercial arrangements with property providers and engage with third-party contractors to implement our development strategy. A deep understanding of risk and compliance across various asset classes is essential, as you will play a key role in improving strategic asset management and operational efficiencies, ensuring our facilities meet the highest standards.

Success in this position requires a commitment to person-centred approaches, demonstrated effective leadership skills and the ability to establish strong governance frameworks. You will be instrumental in optimising sustainability and return on investment by implementing a Strategic Asset Life Cycle Management framework and leveraging data and technology to enhance processes.

In addition to overseeing day-to-day operations, you will actively monitor supplier performance, manage project governance and ensure that all projects are delivered on time and within budget. Your expertise will also extend to fostering a customer-centric culture within the team and collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders.

About You:

  • MBA or Bachelor’s level qualification in a relevant field or equivalent experience (15+ years) in the management of a large portfolio of commercial and residential properties, managing procurement, supply chain contractor management, risk and compliance.
  • Demonstrated success developing and aligning operational facilities management practices and policies with regulatory framework
  • Comprehensive knowledge of contract management, and experience providing advice on complex property, project and development issues
  • Experience developing strategic asset management plans aligned to business objectives
  • Experience delivering a program of property development/construction projects and ensuring tracking of critical milestones and reporting
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver on strategic and operational deliverables with a diverse customer and stakeholder base; whilst maintaining high quality service standards
  • Ability to partner effectively with internal and external expertise to achieve value-based outcomes
  • Ability to work under pressure, set personal workload priorities, and plan effectively to meet challenging deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for influencing stakeholders, and building effective working relationships at a senior level
  • Excellent written communication skills to enable preparation of high-level reports and correspondence
  • Experience with project management principles and systems
  • Experience in leading a small team
  • Understanding of the Disability Service sector.
  • Sound Microsoft Office skills.
  • A current Australian driver’s license, good driving record and the ability to travel intra or interstate
  • Hold current or willingness to obtain relevant regulatory requirements (as per role and/or State).
