About the role:

Aruma is on the lookout for a dynamic and experienced leader to join our team as the Head of SDA (Specialist Disability Accommodation) & Tenancy Management. This crucial role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of SDA and Tenancy Management within the organisation, driving operational excellence and delivering exceptional outcomes for the people we support. As part of the wider Commercial Team, you will play a key role in unlocking value, discovering new opportunities, and making a tangible difference to the lives of individuals with disability.

In this role, you will lead and establish the SDA and tenancy function, ensuring we meet our key performance indicators (KPIs), uphold our regulatory obligations, and deliver the best possible housing outcomes for participants and tenants. You will oversee all aspects of tenancy management for Specialist Disability Accommodation and Supported Independent Living, where Aruma acts as the landlord, fostering positive tenant relationships and ensuring property compliance in line with NDIS standards and tenancy legislation.

You’ll have the responsibility to design and implement strategies that improve operational performance and increase financial contributions to Aruma, all while managing tenancy and vacancy processes, overseeing property suitability, and ensuring full compliance with all SDA registration requirements. By driving a data-informed approach, you’ll lead key reporting initiatives, track the progress of SDA participants, and address potential issues early, ensuring that we exceed both internal performance metrics and external compliance expectations.

About You:

  • Demonstrated commitment to Aruma Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Bachelor level business management qualification
  • 7 years+ of experience working in a similar role, ideally in a disability housing organisation or similar
  • Sound knowledge of the Disability sector and NDIS framework, particularly Specialist Disability Accommodation
  • A working knowledge of tenancy regulatory frameworks
  • High level interpersonal and verbal communication skills including demonstrated skills in consultation, facilitation, negotiation and capacity to represent Aruma internally and externally.
  • Ability to lead, coach and develop employees
  • Outstanding administrative skills; time management, coordination of tasks, efficient work practices
  • Excellent computer literacy and confidence and capability in using systems and technology
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders at all levels
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service and business improvement
  • Comprehensive knowledge of and commitment to workplace safety
  • Ability to coach frontline managers in achieving transformational change
  • A current Australian driver’s license, good driving record and the ability to travel intra or interstate
  • Ability to work flexibly to meet demands of role.
