About the role:
We are seeking an Environmental Lead to play a pivotal role within our commercial facilities management business, focusing on driving environmental sustainability, conducting environmental audits, and supporting the IMS Manager in maintaining and enhancing ISO 14001 compliance. In this role, you will be the primary contact for environmental issues within operational areas, collaborating closely with the National Service Delivery Manager, National and Regional Operations Managers, Health and Safety Lead, IMS Leads, and operational staff to ensure comprehensive environmental management.
Success in this role involves effectively integrating environmental practices into subcontractor and facilities management operations, ensuring that all environmental incidents are promptly reported and appropriate actions are taken. You will work to implement environmental goals and initiatives while collaborating with key managers to address environmental concerns and contribute to tender preparation related to sustainability initiatives. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include conducting site audits, providing guidance on environmental risks, assisting with ISO 14001 certification, developing resources for training, and resolving environmental issues efficiently.
This position requires a proactive approach to environmental compliance and a commitment to fostering a safe and sustainable work environment. You will monitor progress towards environmental targets and participate in initiatives that promote a positive team atmosphere aligned with our organisational values.

About You:
- A commitment to Aruma’s Code of Conduct
- Formal qualifications in Environmental Management or similar
- Certification in Environmental Management Systems (EMS) or willingness to gain.
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in environmental management or related field
- Commitment to ISO Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental Management practices.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Proficiency in environmental management practices and a knowledge of OH&S.
- Ability to manage your schedule efficiently across large geographical areas.
- Effective planning and scheduling.
- Ability to develop and implement sustainable initiatives.
- Strong understanding of environmental regulations and standards.
- Experience in developing and implementing environmental management plans
- Proven ability to lead and manage environmental projects.
- Knowledge of relevant environmental regulations and standards.
- A current Australian driver’s license, good driving record and the ability to travel intra or interstate
- Hold current or willingness to obtain relevant regulatory requirements (as per role and/or State).
