About the role:

We are looking for a passionate Speech Pathologist to join our dedicated and professional team. You will use your skills and knowledge in Speech Pathology to provide flexible family-centred services to children and adults with a disability and their families, within the context of a trans- or multi-disciplinary team and to maintain efficient and effective practices in line with Aruma policies and procedures. This role is flexible - Full Time or Part Time will be considered.

Negotiable salary $85k - $105k (pro rata for PT) + super + salary packaging + employee benefits.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and consultative services were provided to a diverse group of adults and children with a disability, their families and supporters.  
  • Administer dynamic assessments including standardised and informal assessments examples include Ages & Stages, pragmatics profile, CELF5, PLS3, articulation screener, RAPT, Letter Sound Test.
  • Provide equipment prescriptions such as Ipad with communication apps or dedicated speech generating device. 
  • Provide therapy plans and intervention for speech, language, communication and mealtimes that is individualised, flexible, centred around the person’s aspirations and define clear outcomes.
  • Assist people and families to identify their priorities, achieve their goals and have support informed decisions.
  • Provide information, education and support on communication and mealtimes to parents, educators and other stakeholder.
  • Work closely alongside other members of the Allied Health team to provide a multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary service.
  • Provide services within the requirements of the National Disability Insurance Scheme. 
  • Work independently and was able to exercise independent judgement on routine matters. Sought professional supervision if required when performing novel, complex, or critical tasks.
  • Contribute to the evaluation and analysis of guidelines, policies and procedures applicable to professional work and may be required to contribute to the supervision of discipline specific students and Allied Health Assistants.
  • Document all assessment and intervention information, including therapy reports to be consistent with Aruma policies and best practice.
  • Maintain excellent customer records and develop high quality Speech Pathology reports.
  • Make suitable referrals to medical, Allied Health and other stakeholders.
  • Develop collaborative partnerships with all stakeholders and the local disability sector.

About You:

  • Bachelor of Speech Pathology.
  • Current SPA registration as a Speech Pathologist or willingness to obtain.
  • At least 2 years of work experience as a Speech Pathologist
  • Passionate about human rights and creating positive change.
  • Empathetic and compassionate, with a keen understanding of diverse experiences.
  • Excellent communication skills to be the voice that resonates with others.
  • Enthusiastic team player, eager to collaborate and inspire.
  • Hold current or willingness to obtain relevant regulatory requirements (as per role and/or State).
