Who are we looking for?
We are seeking an experienced Behaviour Support Practice Lead to provide expert guidance, mentoring, and education to our Supported Independent Living (SIL) teams. In this newly created role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the effective implementation of Behaviour Support Plans and restrictive practices, supporting leadership, service delivery teams, and frontline staff to deliver high-quality, person-centred support.

What can you expect to be doing?
- Provide practice leadership and mentoring to Managers, Coordinators, and Support Workers, guiding them in the effective implementation of Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs).
- Work closely with leadership and service delivery teams to understand the unique support needs of customers and address any implementation challenges.
- Monitor and review the implementation of complex BSPs and restrictive practices, ensuring compliance with NDIS Practice Standards and achieving positive customer outcomes.
- Deliver training and education on behaviour support and restrictive practices, empowering staff with the knowledge and confidence to implement plans effectively.
- Support evidence capture and reporting, ensuring accurate documentation of behaviour support implementation to maintain compliance and quality service delivery.
What do you need to bring?
- Tertiary qualification in Developmental Education, Behavioural Science, Social Work, or a related allied health field, or extensive and current experience in the disability sector, including implementing behaviour support plans, compliance with restrictive practices, and training support staff and leaders.
- Comprehensive understanding of NDIS Practice Standards and Quality Indicators, Restrictive Practices, Behaviour Support, compliance requirements, and relevant frameworks and guidelines.
- Experience in developing and delivering education and training packages.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to develop strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including customers and other service providers.
- Experience with First Nations customers (desirable).
