Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a passionate, committed Casual Youth Worker to provide support to young people who are progressing towards independent living in AnglicareSA’s Launch 180 program. Our program aims to ensure young people thrive and grow into confident adults as they transition through the care system and into intensively supported accommodation.
As a Youth Worker you will build rapport, understand ambitions, and collaborate on establishing and reaching goals including education, employment, and training opportunities to enhance future financial security.
What can you expect to be doing?
- Ensure effective and intensive support is provided to assist and support a young person to develop their independence and self-reliance across all life domains, in line with direction from Case Managers and in support of achieving a young person’s goals for their future
- Support young people connected with Leaving Care Services who are currently under Guardianship of the Chief Executive transitioning into independent supported accommodation
- Provide services that are inclusive of Aboriginal people and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds as well as engaging in learning about other cultures
- Role model and demonstrate positive attributes that allow young people to learn and feel safe – reducing their vulnerability and building hope and resilience
What do you need to bring?
- Availability to work shifts over a 24/7 roster, including a combination of shifts including nights
- Current Australian Drivers Licence and roadworthy insured vehicle for work related travel (which you will be reimbursed for appropriately)
- Minimum Certificate IV in either Child Services, Youth Work, or Child, Youth & Family Intervention. Qualifications in in either Social Work, Community Services, Psychology or related field will be highly regarded
- Safe Environment for Children and Young People (Through Their Eyes)
- Psychological Suitability Assessment
