Our team based in Gilbert Street is seeking volunteer drivers for our mobile wardrobe vans to service scheduled across AnglicareSA and associated agency site locations including both metropolitan Adelaide and regional areas.
We are looking for van drivers and people to attend site visits to distribute clothing. If you have a patient and friendly manner with people, showing respect and care, then we’d love to have you volunteer with Thread Together. There are no minimum shift requirements – you can be as involved as it suits you.
Skills & Qualities
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment by AnglicareSA’s values
- Ability to work with empathy, compassion and in a non-judgemental and respectful manner
- Relate well with people from a variety of different cultural and socio-economic backgrounds
- Assist with the loading and organisation of clothing into the van and refill of clothing to replenish stock levels when low
- Assist stylist with loading and unloading of clothing on to the provided clothing racks and the setup of the socially distanced area delineated by orange cones
- Ensure that manual handling and best practice rules are always applied during loading and unloading of clothing and during area set up
- Report any identified hazards or safety issues immediately to the Program Coordinator and do not drive the vehicle until they have been appropriately resolved
- Attend site visit for the scheduled visit time allocated. If there is a need to leave earlier than the scheduled visit time, the Program Coordinator to be advised so we can advise the agency in advance
- At the conclusion of the trip, take responsibility for ensuring vans are refuelled when required, the logbook completed, spare hangers or rubbish removed, and van thoroughly cleaned ready for the next driver

- National Police Check
- Working with Children's Check (WWCC)
- Driver’s license
- Fully insured, roadworthy vehicle
