The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for Auto Electrician to join the team at Wales Trucks Repairs, Smithfield!

Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems in heavy vehicles, such as trucks and trailers.

Role responsibilities

  • General auto Electrical work on trucks and other vehicles
  • Workshop and field service work when required
  • Air conditioning repairs and service
  • Diagnosis and troubleshooting workshop vehicles
  • Diagnosing and repairing faults in the electrical systems of heavy vehicles
  • Installing and configuring electrical components, such as batteries, alternators, and starter motors
  • Troubleshooting and repairing faults in vehicle lighting systems, including headlights, indicators, and brake lights
  • Installing and repairing communication and entertainment systems, such as radios and GPS systems
  • Conducting regular maintenance checks to ensure the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings and electrical schematics
  • Maintaining accurate records of work carried out and parts used

  • Auto Electrician Trade Qualified (Essential)
  • Mechanical knowledge to assist in the overall application of electrical works
  • Computer knowledge to enable application of appropriate software with any electronic devices
  • Be a self-starter and take responsibility for work
  • An overall aptitude for technical activities
