The Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) will provide the clinical leadership for Alpine Health’s low care aged care facility at Hawthorn Village located in beautiful Bright. As a leader of the team, the NUM is integral to the coordination of clinical care and operational management of the unit, including staffing, change management and safer care outcomes.

The NUM maintains the following primary responsibilities:

  • Operational leadership to ensure safer care outcomes inclusive of fiscally efficient human and clinical resource management.
  • Demonstrates the ability to traverse from day-to-day problem solving to long term strategic objectives in order to meet organisation targets and objectives.
  • Ensures the delivery of quality nursing care in line with the requirements of the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards and provides significant leadership throughout the accreditation process.
  • Leading the team to coordinate services & case management to meet the needs of the resident.
  • Fostering a safe and respectful work environment through positive workplace behaviour and effective conflict resolution.
  • Service improvement to ensure the highest standards of person centred nursing care through systematic, solution focused problem solving.
  • Playing an active role within committees and working parties dedicated to driving organisational strategic objectives.
