ROLE OVERVIEW

The Physiotherapist will provide leadership throughout Alpine Health and the community through the delivery of an integrated physiotherapy service across the Alpine Shire. This position sits within the Healthy Communities team and plays a crucial role in providing specialised care within a multidisciplinary service.

The diverse role will utilise a Physiotherapist’s clinical knowledge and experience to care for a range of individuals across Acute inpatients, Community programs and Residential care services. The Physiotherapist will also support continued Quality improvement activity and support supervision of Allied Health Assistants and undergraduate students to facilitate best practice in clinical care for all consumers accessing Alpine Health Services. 

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

The Physiotherapist maintains the following primary responsibilities:

  • Provide best practice, evidence based clinical physiotherapy services across community, acute and residential care settings
  • Manage an appropriate clinical load across all settings, liaising with nursing staff, allied health professionals, assistants and medical practitioners to coordinate comprehensive treatment plans
  • Work independently to conduct thorough assessment, treatment and management of a variety of conditions including: musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiothoracic, geriatric, maternity, paediatric and pre or post-operative care
  • Lead and implement Physiotherapy community group programs such as Strength and Balance program
  • Develop person centred care plans tailored to each consumer’s unique needs and goals
  • Coordinate and supervise Allied Health Assistants and undergraduate students as required
  • Participate in case review and other related quality assurance and clinical governance activities 
