CLINICAL NURSE MANAGER, WARD 3 WEST

DEPARTMENT

Ward 3 West is a 32 bed, Cardiology and Cardiothoracic inpatient unit which sits within the Alfred Heart and Lung clinical program. 3 West specialises in the management of patients requiring medical and interventional Cardiology & Cardiothoracic surgical services, while also providing continuous cardiac monitoring services for patients from a wide range of medical and surgical specialties. 3 West is a fast paced unit that works within a collaborative and multi-disciplinary care model to facilitate timely delivery of quality care to both our elective and emergency patient cohorts.

POSITION:

The Clinical Nurse Manager is a dynamic and professional clinical leader who actively contributes to meeting key organisational imperatives. The Clinical Nurse Manager, working with the Nurse Manager, operationalises the core values of Nursing at Alfred Health by ensuring a safe and supportive environment for patients and staff. The Clinical Nurse Manager supports the Nurse Manager in developing staff to deliver excellence in clinical practice, managing clinical risk and implementing systems and processes to improve patient access, experiences and outcomes of care. 

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (Registered Nurse)
• Tertiary qualification in healthcare or business management or working toward same (desirable)
• Recent extensive acute clinical nursing background
• Demonstrated management and leadership skills including:
  • Ability to succesfully manage and lead through organisational change
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills 
  • Ability to confidently support and motivate individuals and multidisciplinary teams to achieve commonly held goals
  • Exceptional problem solving and clinical reasoning skills 
• Embodiment of Alfred Health Nursing Values and a passion for patient centred care delivery
