The Department 

The Dermatology Department at Alfred Health provides treatment of all skin disorders, including severe cutaneous adverse reactions, inflammatory and autoimmune skin disease, non-melanoma skin cancers as well as skin assessments including for immunocompromised and transplant patients.  

The research aspect of this unit is growing. Alfred Dermatology Trials will soon have running over 15 clinical trials for inflammatory and autoimmune skin disease as well as non-melanoma skin cancers. This allows offering treatment options otherwise unavailable for patients with serious chronic skin conditions and being involved with shaping future treatments in Dermatology. The team includes Prof Johannes Kern, Senior Dermatologist Principle Investigators, Research Nurses, Doctors (Clinical and Trial Fellow) and admin staff. It works closely with the Victorian Melanoma Service clinical and research teams.

The Role 

The Clinical Trials Admin Support (CTAS) position is responsible for providing indirect patient care and administrative support. It involves performing administrative duties as directed, helping coordinate patient and stakeholder appointments and supporting scheduling workflow, preparing lab kits for clinic visits, maintenance of stock and supporting the clinical trials team through the delivery and transport of equipment and clinical supplies.

Qualifications and Experience Required 

  • Well-developed communication skills & high attention to detail
  • Team player and commitment to service excellence & ability to problem solve
  • Computer capable – familiar with Microsoft suite of products (particularly Excel)
  • Hospital or clinical trials experience is desirable
