The Department

The Nursing Services Department for Alfred Health is based at The Alfred with a site Director of Nursing & Operations at Sandringham Hospital.   

The Role

To provide a range of administrative functions to support the Director of Nursing & Operations. Functions include diary management, record administration, database management, production or reports, travel management, administrative support to committees and support to senior management.   
In addition to administrative duties, the position is required to coordinate/ manage the Sandringham Hospital Volunteer Program, in the day-to-day operation, planning and delivery of a volunteer program which supports the Patients Comes First Strategy.  
Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and experience in liaising with senior leaders, directors and executives and staff at all levels. Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organisational skills with a commitment to customer focus, attention to detail and problem solving
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to draft correspondence on behalf of the Director  
  • Proven ability in a similar environment, preferably at a senior level, where highly developed organisational and prioritisation skills are required, as well as proficiency in a wide range of administrative skills and IT skills 
  • Excellent PC skills, proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and  Outlook, SharePoint, Teams)
