About us

The newly integrated Adult and Older Adult Service combines AMAH Adult Community Mental Health and Caulfield Aged and Liaison Psychiatry Services to provide comprehensive, person-centred support for adults and older adults. We offer a wide range of therapeutic, addiction, trauma-informed, and family violence services.

In line with the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health recommendations and the Victorian Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022, we are expanding our services to provide specialized expertise and broad-spectrum care, including pathways for substance use, rehabilitation, recovery, and trauma-focused care.

Our approach focuses on integrated treatment, education, peer support, care planning, and navigation, supporting individuals at every stage of their recovery journey.

You’ll have the opportunity to work in areas such as:

  • Navigations and Continuing Care: Brief Intervention, Access and Intake, CMHT, Physical Health, and Family Services
  • Adult Rehabilitation and Recovery: MSTS, CCU, PARC, HOPS, and SECU
  • Aged/Older Adult Mental Health: MAPS, Caulfield Hospital Community Liaison, and inpatient units
  • Wellbeing and Therapeutic Services: Psychological Trauma and Capacity Building initiatives

About the Role

You will be providing carer peer support to carers and families that have a relative or friend receiving treatment form Alfred Mental and Addiction Health community programs. The position will work in partnership with the AMAH Carer Peer Workforce, Practice Lead – Carer Peer and multidisciplinary treating teams to ensure the unique needs of families are understood and that families are supported during the treatment planning processes.

About you?

  • A personal identification with caring experiences of a family member or person with mental ill health.
  • Experience working in a Carer Peer role.
  • Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work or Intentional Peer Support Training (desirable)
  • Current Victorian Driver's License
  • Be willing to undergo a Background Check
