DEPARTMENT
Ward 3 West is a 32 bed, Cardiology and Cardiothoracic inpatient unit which sits within the Alfred Heart and Lung clinical program. 3 West specialises in the management of patients requiring medical and interventional Cardiology & Cardiothoracic surgical services, while also providing continuous cardiac monitoring services for patients from a wide range of medical and surgical specialties. 3 West is a fast paced unit that works within a collaborative and multi-disciplinary care model to facilitate timely delivery of quality care to both our elective and emergency patient cohorts.
POSITION:
The RUSON is a key member of the multidisciplinary team on 3 West. The role of the Registered Undergraduate Student of Nursing (RUSON) is to provide delegated elements of clinical nursing care and support to assist the nursing team in their delivery of safe and quality patient care. The RUSON works under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse, within their level of education and assessed competencies and under clearly defined role parameters. The RUSON provides supportive, personalised, patient-centred care to our diverse patient cohort.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (RUSON)
- Currently enrolled in Bachelor of Nursing, Master of Nursing Practice and has successfully completed 12 months of study
- Strong communication and clinical reasoning skills
- Embodiment of Alfred Health Nursing Values and a passion for patient centred care delivery
