The Department

Caulfield Rehabilitation Services

Caulfield Rehabilitation Services are the statewide provider of rehabilitation for non-traumatic spinal and burns patients as well as providing goal directed rehabilitation for patients following a neurological event, an amputation or for Muli trauma patients.  We are recruiting to two Clinical Support and Development Positions – which will be aligned with either Ward AC2 (20 bed neurological and burns unit) or AC3 (25 bed non traumatic spinal, amputation and multi trauma unit).  The units are very dynamic environments with a diverse complex patient groups. Our passionate and highly skilled multi-disciplinary teams work very closely together to achieve excellence in quality patient care.

The Role

The Clinical Support & Development Nurse is dedicated to supporting nursing excellence in subacute care settings. This role involves mentoring and developing nursing staff, ensuring high standards of patient care, and addressing the professional growth needs of rehabilitation clinical environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide education, support, and mentorship to nursing staff in rehabilitation care settings
  • Collaborate with clinical and organisational stakeholders to identify and address staff development needs
  • Lead by example in delivering exceptional rehabilitation nursing practice
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate educational initiatives tailored to rehabilitation nursing priorities

Qualifications and Skills Required

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia via AHPRA
  • Working towards or holding a Master of Nursing or Education
  • Proven experience in education roles and clinical leadership within rehabilitation care
  • Extensive clinical knowledge and expertise in rehabilitation nursing
  • Strong understanding of nursing scope of practice, supervision, and delegation in rehabilitation settings
