The Department 

Alfred Health Pharmacy is well recognised for high quality and innovative patient-focused services, education and training programmes as well as significant research output. The service operates over 4 sites within Alfred Health, and continually advocates for postgraduate learning and research interests, with supportive partnerships and expert mentors available to foster staff development. The department also has a leading Digital Health strategy, playing a pivotal role in managing the electronic medication management system within our comprehensive electronic medical record (Cerner), with an advanced level of integration linking this to the Pharmacy Dispensing (iPharmacy) and Automated Medication Storage systems (Omnicell). This is complemented by a strong clinical presence and a Centre for Medicine Use and Safety program to achieve a considered, safe and financially responsible approach to medication management within Alfred Heath.

About the Role 

We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated first and second year pharmacy students to join the dynamic and progressive pharmacy department at Alfred Health. You will work across a variety of departments and campuses and gain experience in a diverse hospital pharmacy setting, assisting with operational tasks such as dispensing, sterile manufacturing, stock management in the pharmacy store and on wards, administrative tasks and other pharmacy technician duties as required. 

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Currently enrolled in an approved pharmacy degree as determined by the Pharmacy Board of Australia and in the equivalent of First or Second Year in 2025 
  • Community or hospital pharmacy experience highly desirable but not essential 

**Please note: applicants seeking internship or supervised practice in 2025 or 2026 will not be considered. Applications for the 2026 internship program will be co-ordinated via the Victorian Hospital Pharmacy Intern Program. More information available on the AdPHA website here**
