DEPARTMENT: Operations

POSITION:

The Manager, Ward Clerks role is a pivotal component in Alfred Health’s commitment to improving the support, supervision and development of Ward Clerks across the health service.  This part time position, reporting to the Deputy Chief Operating Officer, will provide a central Alfred Health wide resource to manage Clerk issues and initiatives.

It is also responsible for the supervision of the Senior Ward Clerk team (5 roles), allocation and coordination of their work in collaboration with the Clinical Programs.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Essential

  • Experience in managing or supervising others
  • Demonstrated computer literacy including Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Email)
  • Experience in a health care setting
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical practice

Desirable

  • A degree in a relevant healthcare profession or Certificate III in Business Administration (or equivalent).
  • Experience in patient administration systems (example iPM, Cerner)
  • Previous experience/education in supervising and/or training staff
