We are seeking a dedicated Security Compliance Coordinator to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and oversee security operations at Darwin International Airport.

This role involves maintaining compliance with bodies such as the Department of Home Affairs, Cyber and Infrastructure Security Centre, Civil Aviation Safety Authority, and NT WorkSafe. You will also provide innovation and technological solutions in a challenging, fast paced and dynamic environment whilst overseeing the delivery of customer service to stakeholders and passengers within the Terminal Control Centre.

The successful candidate will be the primary point of contact for government agencies and stakeholders, ensuring contract performance and delivering innovative technological solutions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

You will be responsible for:

  • Ensure compliance with aviation security regulations and programs.
  • Monitor contractor performance and review action plans.
  • Manage distribution and duties of ASIC and VIC, acting as an agent for ASIC issuance.
  • Assist in designing and implementing security policies and projects.
  • Conduct regular security inspections for compliance.
  • Analyze, audit, and report on security program outcomes.
  • Coordinate Access Control and CCTV systems distribution.
  • Respond to security emergencies, including after hours.
  • Meet deadlines and update stakeholders on processes.
  • Verify documents and data entry, including ASIC processing.
  • Prepare security-related reports.
  • Coordinate duties of Security Administration Assistants.
  • Maintain relationships with departments and stakeholders for project implementation.
  • Ensure security procedures are followed as per SOPs and regulations.
  • Provide operational support and guidance to departments and agencies.
  • Represent the Security Department in meetings and liaise with government agencies.
  • Resolve invoicing discrepancies with Accounts Payable and vendors.
  • Manage filing processes according to quality assurance and information sensitivity.
  • Respond to customer complaints and track outcomes.

To be successful you will:

  • Demonstrated experience in compliance auditing, with a proven track record of identifying and mitigating regulatory risks.
  • Excellent skills in information collection and analysis procedures with a view to recognising potential threats and dangers.
  • An ability to exercise sound and strong management skills in times of crisis and emergencies.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills including the production of policy and procedures papers supporting projects and operations.
  • Ability to provide instructions clearly and concisely both orally and in writing. A high sense of discretion and integrity when dealing with sensitive information.
  • Act in an honest, ethical manner and be accountable and responsible.
  • High degree of responsibility, initiative, alertness, the ability to prioritise a heavy workload and to delegate accordingly.
  • Demonstrates sound judgement in security operations and information management skills.
  • Professional attitude and the ability to build successful working relationships with contracts outside of the project Security Department. Demonstrates an integrated approach and attitude through normal work activities and thorough understanding of the Airport environment and its stakeholders.
  • High standard of computer literacy and an excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Eligibility to hold an Aviation Security Identification Card and pass an Australian Federal Police background check.
