We are seeking a highly skilled Management Accountant (analytics & reporting) to join our corporate services team. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role is responsible for the preparation of the ADG consolidated results (management & statutory), budgets and forecasts along with playing a key role in the maintenance & improvements of the reporting systems. The role is based at our shared services office in the vibrant city of Cairns, nestled in the heart of tropical North Queensland.   • Bachelor’s degree in business / commerce / economics / finance
  • CPA / CA qualifications
  • Advanced financial reporting experience
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and draw meaningful conclusions 
  • Thorough understanding of accounting principles and standards 
  • Excellent information systems skills including Excel and reporting packages
  • Effectively communicating financial information to non-financial stakeholders 
  • Identifying and resolving financial issues and proposing solutions 
  • Understanding the business operations and strategic objectives to align financial analysis with overall goals 
  • Strong commitment and willing to consistently meet tight reporting deadlines

Desirable

  • Experience within a Big 4 Chartered Firm
  • Knowledge of Technology One ERP, SharePoint and Microsoft Office Suite of software
  • Ability to work with remote offices or multiple sites

You will do...

  • Monthly reporting - Preparation of the monthly ADG consolidated results as well as Business Unit results for presentation to the board of directors, shareholders and management.
  • Performance reporting - Preparing regular financial and operational reports for management, highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs) and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Budgeting and forecasting - Creating and managing budgets for different departments, analysing variances to the budget, and forecasting future financial performance. Coordinating with various stakeholders in formulating business unit budgets.
  • Financial modelling - Developing financial models to evaluate potential business decisions and assess their financial implications.
  • Strategic planning - Collaborating with senior management to develop strategic plans and provide financial insights to inform decision-making.
  • Data analysis - Gathering, analysing, and interpreting financial and operational data to identify trends and patterns.
  • Technical accounting - Provision of technical accounting advice to business on complex, new or emerging accounting issues.
  • Consolidation systems - Managing and support of the consolidation system.
  • System changes (entity hierarchies and other), system implementation and other projects.
