About the Role

The Australian Institute of Professional Counsellors (AIPC) Is seeking passionate, dedicated counsellors with experience teaching at a tertiary level to join our Academic team and impart their knowledge on the next generation of counselling workers,

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and conduct lectures and tutorials.
  • Develop study materials including lectures and materials for assigned subjects in accordance with approved subject outlines.
  • Provide study assistance to students
  • Encourage and monitor the engagement of students in their studies
  • Develop and conduct face-to-face residential school sessions for relevant subjects, including assessing students during the residential schools.
  • Mark student assessments and provide feedback in accordance with assessment and moderation policies.
  • Identify and liaise with students at risk and apply individual learning plans as needed.
  • Maintain subject sites on the Learning Management System
  • Maintain current knowledge and skills in counselling and in higher education teaching and learning

About you

  • A Counselling (or related field) qualification at least at Master level.
  • Demonstrated teaching ability in relevant fields at a tertiary level.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development of subject curricula and teaching materials.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and administer the successful delivery of tertiary subjects.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet marking and student feedback timeframes
  • Demonstrated ability to liaise, negotiate and collaborate with both internal and external parties.
  • Demonstrated continuing professional development in relevant field. ‘Professional Development’ includes further studies, membership of industry associations, attendance at industry workshops and functions and/or attending supervision.
  • Eligible for membership of a relevant industry association.
