Allied Health Assistant

28 hrs per fortnight, fixed term (24th April – 30th June 2025)

An opportunity has arisen for fixed term role to cover 2 days per week Allied Health Assistant position, providing a total of 14 hours per week . The AHA assists the Primary Health team to deliver a range of individual and group-based programs.

Dates and hours available:

Mondays - 7.5hrs

  • 28th April, 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th May; 2nd, 16th, 23rd and 30th June

Thursdays - 6.5hrs

  • 24th April and 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th May; 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th June

Key Responsibilities will include:

 · Contribute to the provision of a high standard of clinical and program support as determined by the Allied Health Clinicians.

· Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, and participate in planning, implementing and evaluation of the service provided.

· Support the delivery of a range of individual and group therapy programs in both inpatient and outpatient settings, including Cardiac Rehabilitation, Pulmonary Rehabilitation and strength-based activity programs.

· Keep up to date record of activities for statistical and reporting purposes using computer based Client Management System

 

Key Selection Criteria;

 

·        Certificate III or IV Allied Health Assistance

·        Current Driver’s License

·        Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team with a clear patient focus

·        Effective time management and prioritisation skills

·        Applies initiative and systematic approach to problem solving

·        Proficient in the use of information technology

·        Excellent communication skills verbal and written

·        Ability to work independently.

·        An understanding of factors affecting clients with acute, rehabilitation and post-surgical needs

·        A philosophy of care that promotes client independence with their health and lifestyle

 

Desirable:

·        Experience in an acute hospital, rehabilitation and/or aged care setting

·        Knowledge of a wide range of health professionals and service providers.
