Mine Operator

The role

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and team-oriented individual for a 12 month fixed-term Mine Operator role located at Klein Point Mine on the Yorke Peninsula. 

Klein Point extracts over 2 million tonnes of limestone per annum. Working with other operators on your shift, you will contribute the supply of limestone to our Birkenhead plant for the cement manufacturing process.

In the role of Mine operator, you will be a multi skilled and operate a variety of mobile and fixed plant including loaders, excavators, graders, dump trucks and crushers.

This role is on a continuous day shift roster of 4 on 4 off.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety, health and environment standards are maintained and completes all tasks safely and to a high quality
• Identify opportunities for improvement and provide feedback via the maintenance management system
• Operation of Cat 988, 992G FEL or similar
• Operation of Cat 777 dump trucks or similar
• Operation of Cat D11 Dozer or similar
• Operation of Cat 12/14 Grader or similar
• Undertake housekeeping, basic maintenance and general labour duties
• Reporting of incidents/hazards and corrective actions

What you will need to succeed

• Current driver's licence and own reliable transport
• Demonstrated experience in operating mobile plant and/or heavy equipment
• Previous experience working on plant and equipment within a similar heavy industry and mining will be viewed favourably
• A current forklift and EWP high risk work licence and Confined Space ticket is highly desirable
• Strong mechanical aptitude
