The role

Are you ready to take charge and drive excellence in our operations? We’re looking for a dynamic Operations Manager to lead our teams and ensure our facilities run smoothly and efficiently.

Reporting to the National Operations Manager (Masonry), the Operations Manager is a key member of our senior management team, responsible for overseeing all aspects of our Masonry plants within Queensland. 

This role will provide leadership and strategic direction to the QLD Operations team. Supporting a positive workplace culture ensuring agreed business targets and employee safety is achieved while fostering a continuous improvement culture across all operational areas.

This permanent full-time role is based in Stapylton however frequent travel to various site locations is required.

Responsibilities

  • Support Operations Management: Coordinate with the team to maximise the use of resources, helping us achieve our objectives.
  • Engage & Inspire: Regularly communicate our company’s direction and strategic goals to staff through engaging sessions.
  • Supervise Equipment Operations: Ensure all equipment functions optimally while meeting company standards and targets.
  • Drive Production Success: Deliver exceptional site production outcomes consistently.
  • Optimise Asset Management: Monitor all assets for cost efficiency and peak performance.
  • Safety First: Maintain up-to-date health, safety, and environmental documentation.
  • Support Planning: Assist in monthly production planning and forecasting to meet targets.
  • Foster Continuous Improvement: Develop and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Identify Improvement Opportunities: Plan and execute initiatives for plant enhancements.
  • Manage Costs Effectively: Keep plant costs aligned with budgets and production outputs.
  • Uphold Quality Standards: Ensure all products meet stringent quality requirements.
  • Monitor Production Variances: Maintain cost efficiency in relation to production outputs.

 What you will need to succeed

  • High-level management skills with a proven track record.
  • Experience managing multiple teams effectively.
  • Extensive experience in a leadership role ideally within manufacturing or similar sector
  • Demonstrated skills in driving improvements and managing projects.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles and budgeting.
  • Ability to build positive relationships and communicate effectively.
  • Experience working across functional teams to achieve shared goals.
  • Proficient in MS Office; SAP experience is a plus.
