The role
As the Senior Financial Accountant for the Adbri Group, you will be responsible for maintaining the financial integrity of Adbri’s local and global regulatory accounting and reporting requirements along with participating in the process improvement initiatives and projects.
This position plays a pivotal role in the Group Finance team and partners with the business divisions, providing commercial insights to improve profitability, through Financial Planning and Analysis tasks.
You will report directly to the Senior Manager of Group Accounting.
This role is a full-time permanent role based in Sydney, offering hybrid work arrangements.
Responsibilities
Financial Accounting and Reporting:
- Responsible for the monthly financial accounting closing process, including consolidation, for the Group and participate in monthly reporting to the key stakeholders.
- Participate in the establishment of and adherence to robust systems and protocols for monthly financial reporting to key stakeholders, ensuring compliance with reporting and regulatory standards.
- Ensure compliance with and monthly reporting of Global Sarbanes-Oxley Financial Control procedures.
- Collaborate closely with business divisions, offering expert advice on technical accounting matters to bolster strategic project outcomes.
Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Participate in various profitability improvement initiatives, including but not limited to, revenue driver analysis, site profitability and ad-hoc projects.
- Participate in the financial review of key Group Cost Centre budgets.
- Global reporting - Responsible for the preparation of the monthly and quarterly reporting and assist in the provision financial data analysis to our parent company.
What you will need to succeed
CA/CPA qualified
- Demonstrated experience in interpreting and applying Australian accounting standards in a Big 4 Accounting firm or a large, multinational organisation.
- 5 to 7 years of post-qualification experience ideally in a large, multinational organisation.
- Experience with large ERP systems (SAP ECC 6/SAP for HANA) and knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance requirements ideal.
- Proven track record of liaising with Senior Management and experience collaborating with third party and non-finance functions.
- Advanced excel skills along with exposure to financial reporting tools (TM1, SAC, Anaplan etc) and SAC, SAP BI & Power BI.
