ActewAGL’s Finance Division is seeking motivated, switched on individuals with excellent communication and analytical skills to join the team as an Accountant Taxation and Fixed Assets. Working as an Accountant Taxation and Fixed Assets for our Finance Division will see you supporting the Manager in overseeing taxation compliance activities and maintenance of the fixed asset records for both the ActewAGL Distribution (AAD) and ActewAGL Retail (AAR) Partnerships, ActewAGL Retail Investments Pty Limited, Illuminact Pty Limited and Icon Water.

About your new role
Some of your key responsibilities are (but not limited to) :
- Prepare and lodge all Indirect tax compliance matters (such as Payroll Tax, GST, PAYG-I, Fuel Tax Rebate) with the ATO and other authorities (such as state government).
- Assist with the preparation and lodgement of Income Tax Returns (ITRs) and Fringe Benefits (FBT) Returns.
- Identify, control and report on all taxation risks identified through the Tax Risk Register including holding discussions with the Group Manager on a regular basis.
- Ensure adherence to all applicable laws, rules, regulations and disclosure requirements of the ATO and other authorities with respect to all applicable taxes and levies as outlined in the Policy, and that all lodgement and reporting obligations are met within required deadlines.
- Endeavour to aim for certainty where possible on tax positions adopted, and where a tax position is unclear or subject to interpretation, external written advice or confirmation is sought and reviewed in accordance with the tax risk rating matrix included in the Policy.
- Completion of reporting under Payment Times Reporting Scheme for both Partnerships including working with the business to improve payment times to small businesses and reviewing any changes to relevant legislation.

About you
Essential
- You possess tertiary qualifications in accounting or a related discipline and membership in CA/CPA.
- You have demonstrated work experience in areas of Taxation Compliance preferably in the utilities industry or a large infrastructure business in a matrix organisation working across multiple stakeholders.
- You have well-developed quantitative, financial and analytical skills, with a proven ability to interpret financial and non-financial statistical information.
- You have proven business acumen, strategic planning and decision-making across the business.
Desirable
- Experience with ATO approved software applications such as CCH Integrator is preferred.
- Strong excel skills including experience with TM1 and the Oracle Financial Suite or similar financial system is highly desirable
- Post graduate studies in Taxation.
